Heavy Metal - Alex Fakso // Signiert

Heavy Metal is a photographic work documenting the daily (and nightly) life and work of Europe s most celebrated street artists, spray can in hand. In this electrifying body of work, Alex takes the viewer on a covert mission, during the twilight hours, documenting the artists tactics, movements and determination. Every photograph is compelling, whether entering the shadowy train yards or negotiating high fences. This exhilarating new book represents the new generation of emerging visual artists and is a true record of European urban culture. Photographer Alex Fakso was given unprecedented access to the working methods of Europe s top graffi ti artists and he skilfully captures them doing their craft. Fascinating insight into how street artists are forced to work to avoid detection. Fakso s photography is in the tradition of the great visual artists Martha Cooper, Henry Chalfant and Bruce Davidson who documented New York s subway graffi ti in the 1970s and 1980s. This book is destined to put Europe and its graffi ti on the map. Represents new generation of emerging visual artists in Milan, London, Berlin, Barcelona.
