From graffiti to photography
With this new issue of Graffalife, RAP takes you into 2005 - an important year for him. Digital photography has been publicly available since the end of 2004. He now also has a digital compact camera - which also changes the way he takes his photos. The motifs and the shots of each motif become more.
In August 2005, he leaves Paris to settle in the country. But before he leaves, he tries to implement his plans for the PSL, Bois-Colombes, Les Mureaux and Cergy-le-Haut lines. He photographs old tags in the tunnels, as well as trucks and blinds from the streets. RAP travels to Rome, Amsterdam, Copenhagen. There are no more grey trains on the PSL line. He takes photos of his neighbourhood and tries to find his first tags from 1990-91.
In 2005, TRANE is now everywhere too. JAMER and RIZOTE are really very active. HORPHÉ is just starting to stand out. There are names like Flask, Soda, Rcf1, Lock, Pearl, Sex, Play, Promo and many more to be seen.
There is no street art, no auction - but there are exhibitions that remain confidential. JON1 still has time to participate in an exhibition of small MTA wagons.
In contrast to the photos he saw in his last year in Paris, RAP tells in his text about his childhood and his first steps in graffiti.
